| Good post. We've been reading labels too but not necessarily shopping differently---totally. But if its side by side we'll chose USA. Looking at a bottle of apple juice the other day it listed about 4 different countries. I choose USA bearings for sure!
As a foot note to the walmart thread elsewhere I'm betting you might have a problem finding Made in the USA.??? I was visiting with a well known economist a year ago and his take on walmart was that they "forced" suppiers to be a least cost producer so they were good for their customers. I pointed out that least cost producers reside outsideour borders in a lot of cases. I also tried to get him to look at the full circle where the person shopping at walmart could very well be working at a factory that walmart was squeezing to be the least cost supplier. And if that customer lost their job because walmart "forced" them to compete with imports are they really that great?
FWIW This economist was a real promotor (and a powerfull influence) in the consolidation of swine production.
