It seems like you are expecting the markets to behave logically. I think that much market activity is not at all logical - look at the NYSE companies that announce large sales and profit increase then their stock takes a nosedive....go figure.

The best approach I have heard and been shown is for a producer to sell a certain percent of your crop at the same time of the same day each week for 3 quarters of the year, nothing during the harvest quarter, and get a good nights sleep.

This approach was shown to be consistently profitable. WIll you sell all at the market top? No. But you won't end up selling it all at the bottom either. Your blood pressure will probably be healthier too.
