A few years ago, some research done on whole beans to cows. As I recall, about 2 pounds per day around 30 days prior to calving did wonders for cows. Really supposed to get them in shape and help rebreeding. Of course beans were half the price as today. I wouldn't worry about a small percentage of beans, actually, I would prefer it.
