| I have farms signed up in both the "Direct " and "Acre" programs. I get a "Direct" payment on both though the ACRE farm payments are reduced and it's called an "ACRE DIRECT" payment. My ACRE farm is eligible for both LDP or the loan program, just at a reduced rate than the other farms. My understanding is that if prices drop low enough the "ACRE" farm will get an "ACRE" payment that could possibly be greater than what I gave up.
From my calculations it was a roll of the dice. I gave up some payments on the chance that if prices went south or state wide yelds dropped I would get back more than I gave up. | |
