Well, you were right on. You have to apply the data upon import. It was during an import step I had never used before. I have 5 tanks, so five channels, that came in at the same time. They needed to be allocated to where I want them in the tree, but at least I didn't need to import each tank like Shapes. Not perfect, but an improvement.
