Just some information.
Canada has a 250% + tariff on dairy. It’s true. But what no one is saying is that it’s only when the volume exceeds a set amount that it’s applied. The US has the same tariff rate 250% + on dairy coming into the US when it exceeds a certain amount. These rates have never actually been applied to any products because it’s never been more than the volume agreed upon under usmca. The agreed upon volume actually allows three times the volume shipped north than the volume shipped south. The US has a massive tariff on sugar and tobacco and yet this is never spoken about.

USA protects there sugar, tobacco and peanuts just the same as we protect our dairy, eggs and poultry. Quoted this so people would read again, but they just seem to look over the facts again and again. Even though I'm constantly blaming the quota system for inflating land prices around here, no way would I ever want to see the USA dairy model here. Cuz if we abolished the quota system alot of farms would be swallowed up and family farms would be just one very wealthy family/corp and 30-50 TFWs or HTAs.
