Yes a rotary will work and we use plenty of ground up rotary straw that we have to buy to supplement our straw. We use two convention combines that are over 50 years old and look like new.
I ABSOLUTELY hate straw from a rotary.
I would be in heaven and would pay more if I could get all our straw from a conventional combine.
