Subject: RE: Set aside, soil bank?

South Central Kansas, Harper County
My grandad owned a pasture, except for a 16 acre field that was tillable. You drive across the pasture and you would see terraces on a part of it, my Dad said that was in the soil bank program. Man it needed to be, as it was very close to shale, rough, poor soil, for even grass to grow. I dont know how they ever used to farm it. The 16 acre tillable field is still not the best soil, but at least its flat!
