northeastern Ohio | Possibly. Walls are curtain from top to bottom. Doors open on both ends. 12 fans directly over the freestalls all summer last year. Been in here over a year and it was the same in the winter and summer.
I have a crossover at each end and in the middle. It seems that once they get to the middle crossover, they don't want to go any further.
Started with about 130 cows in 150 stalls. Went up to 170 cows in 150 stalls. Now we are back at 130 cows in 150 stalls.
New barn is a flush barn where the old barn was scraped. It is 2.5% slope with the far end being 7 feet higher than the bottom end. They must get tired of climbing the hill :) | |
