Penn Yan, NY | Gravity table won’t do a ton.
With our color sorter I can get about 70% of green rye out of wheat per pass. If it’s a blonde rye like some of the hybrid types there’s not much hope.
In one case where we were trying to salvage the last known seed of a variety I color sorted 4x, then color sorted the rejects to salvage a little
More wheat, then color sorted everything again. They had $20/bu just in color sorter charges plus the initial mechanical cleaning but they were able to easily hand rogue the residual rye in one more season after that. | |
