But as an older guy now.............I wouldn't advise catching up with us.


We've got 6" to 36" of beautiful topsoil on top of several hundred feet of tertiary and quaternary fill (gravel). That gravel happens to also lie under Canyon Ferry reservoir. It takes less than 24 hours for the reservoir level to affect our well level. In other words, our wells are basically a pipeline out of the Missouri river.

We like to nozzle our pivots to at least 7 GPM/acre, if not 10.

Put 34" on our alfalfa last year. 22" to 27" on our wheat.

On a wet year, we can run a lot of the year on gravity pressure from two creeks. When it gets dry, watching the power meter will make you dizzy in a hurry.
