| The Sun article David offers is an example of half truth and twisting that passes for journalism (on both sides) today. The Sun is among the most right wing of mainstream Canadian newspapers and to their credit marked the story as opinion. Carney has not repealed the carbon tax as the article suggests. He has promised to repeal the carbon tax. Fact is that he could not repeal the Carbon tax without recalling parliament which has been temporarily suspended (prorogation is a legal process in our system of Government) to allow Trudeau to resign and Liberals to pick a new leader- Carney. Rather than recall parliament Carney will ask the Governor General to end this session of parliament and call for a new election today.
What Carney did was to set the rate of the tax to 0 beginning in April 2025 which he is within his right to do. If elected Carney then has the right through parliament to repeal the carbon tax. If he does not do it then indeed he will be a LIAR.
