NE Nebraska | We have two air purifiers. Larger one is Coway Airmega AP-1512HH(W) True HEPA Purifier with Air Quality Monitoring. It's in our kitchen /living area. And it really helps.
Smaller one is a LEVOIT Air Purifier Core 300 for Home Allergies Pets Hair in Bedroom, H13 True HEPA Filter, 24db Filtration System Cleaner Odor Eliminators, Ozone Free, Remove 99.97% Dust Smoke Mold Pollen. I have this one in our laundry room which helps with the dust from dryer lint.
Our main dust is a fine white dust during the winter and it's next to the humidifier. I recently learned it could be from minerals in our water --it's suggested to use distilled water instead. I'm in a FB cleaning group (many professionals) where dust is discussed constantly. Here's their main list of suggestions:
No shoes in the house.
Change air filters frequently (some say as often as once a month - but I'd say that's overkill)
Vacuum daily until you get it under control with a vacuum with water filtration or a HEPA filter.
Only dust with a damp cloth and rinse frequently. Many recommend Norwex microfiber cloth
Seal gaps around windows and doors.
Clean your ductwork.
Maintain a relative humidity (RH) of less than 50%
Wash bedding including comforters weekly.
Get a HEPA air cleaner.
