Remember that a vast majority of the American diet is manufactured food. This means to gain marketshare and profits it needs to be as cheap as possible. The cheaper to make it the more $$ to the share holders. To gain a slot to even display your product in the very much controlled chain store world it needs to be cheaper than others to allow you to get a foot in the door. Then you need to pay for your shelf slot which means only the BIG boys get product on shelves. These companies give two craps of human health. From Frito Lay to Phillip morris and RJ reynolds whom developed the chems in your food products to get public desires situated for increased consumption.Sure they separated these from the tobacco names a while back,,but they knew how to get people to eat crap.Crazy world..some of their names are Nabisco,Kraft etc,,solution? cook at home, buy veg/meat locally, buy only 5 ingredients or less products that are pre made.It IMO there is maybe larger than cig smoking time bomb in Americans health from bad food and no exercise.
