Subject: TREE RINGS

I cut down an approx. 70 y.o. ash tree yesterday. Noticed throughout the life of the tree you never saw a real fat ring and a real thin ring right next to each other, it was always a gradual shift and each was approx 5-6 yrs. long. Reason i mention this is at least the last 1/2 dozen were pretty fat, and Elwynn Taylor says the benner cycle has been giving us a drought every 18 yrs, if it makes it to 2011 it will be 23 years and that will be a longest interval in 800 yrs. - just an observation, take it for what its worth
