North Dakota | Right now there is still over a foot of snow in the open, several feet in tree rows and shelterbelts. Usually all that snow ends up melting and running into low areas(no drainage/prairie pothole region). Last fall was very wet so don't have much room for more moisture. I certainly am going to make sure my prevent plant coverage for crop insurance is in order. I just have a feeling with all the snow, wet and fog this spring is going to be ugly. Have most my inputs purchased but when the slews start connecting there is no way to get to the hill on the other side to seed it. Been there and done that in 1999. Most likely USDA will put off the obvious until the market gets shocked into realizing the truth. They will try to keep the lid on as long as they can, then spread shortage over future years. Been going on along time, and will continue. | |
