After all the meetings with oil salesmen and more oil salesmen, I wouldn't put Rotella in my neighbors lawn mower. When we decided to extend our oil change intervals above 250 hours, SOPUS engineers told us not to exceed 500 hours. At the same time engineers from 2 other oil companies told us 1,000+ hours with their oil was not a problem.
Castrol and Exxon were the other companies. That was 10 years ago. We went with Exxon and are contemplating switching to Delo for pricing reasons.

THERE, fixed it for you. In no way, shape, or form, is Rotella a poor oil for older engines. Which, by the way is what the OP asked for.
