I was told by a factory rep that style clamp is designed for use on hoses fitted to plastic tanks. Gear clamps can apply too much force distorting the plastic if there are alot of temperature changes. However as mentioned they need a pliable hose to seal well. I used to throw them away but have since gone back to reinstalling them and only had a couple leak, then I went gear clamp.
Is there a tool to retighten these style hose clamps?
