| A lot of good points. We have to do something about the border for sure. If my neighbor kid was slipping drugs into my house I would ensure it stops - I too would start with their President (parents). Regardless of how the conversation goes, I would stop it one way or another - that is protecting your own.
Goods that are of national security are an exception to free trade - this is where China gets messy. We do need domestic semi conductor and chip production capacity for example. It will cost more state side, but it does need to be done, for national security.
I also agree with your climate comment. Those agreements were about power and we bowed to appease a certain voter demographic.
Fair trade is relative I suppose. Truth is, protectionist policies by others will hurt them more than the US. They are handcuffing themselves by limiting their business with the US. | |
