Fairbury, NE (Southeast) | FDR's solution to the depression was develop a bunch of government jobs to solve problems. While the TVA, Hoover Dam, and other projects were very successful, it had consequences. Capitalism was stunted. Businesses had less reason to be innovative because the risk of government intrusion was always in the background. Rather than incentivise growth via private entities he took the big, no, gigantic governent approach.
Overall it had very mixed results. The United States never climbed out of the depression until WW2 and the statistics back this up.
