West Central Indiana | Maybe it would help riding along with someone that’s experienced if you’ve never sprayed before. I had the opportunity to ride with a custom applicator that had years of experience before I started on my own. If your gonna be cleaning out for 5 different crops, your gonna need a good plan for all that. Flushing or charging with just water at end of the day will help a lot. Just remember to charge booms back up before starting the next day or you’ll have a nice size strip with just water sprayed on it.
I think you mean spraying the border when you open up fields? I just keep booms low and go slow, I don’t like trying to spray around a tight corner. I usually just spray up to it, then square back up and go.2 passes will help a lot until you get really good. With 120’ booms you may have to get creative if you’re dealing with smaller odd shaped fields or have waterways chopping things up. Always mark tile holes or blowouts!!! I once dropped a 3 wheeled spra-coup in a big hole(cistern well caved in). Luckily I just walked away with a concussion and busted steering on the sprayer. | |
