Location makes a difference, dry years 15's canopy and wind blockage increases yield. Bought older split row planter for beans, doesn't need to be in as good of shape as corn planter. 1/4 to 1/2 inch depth vary (provided good cover) won't affect yield like it does in corn. Corn planter only needs attention 1/2 as often.
