Explain to a northerner that the closest he’s been to flood irrigation is driving past it at 55 mph how this is a good idea. To me it’s sounds 100% backwards.
I can't really explain it except to suggest you look at satellite imagery of Clay Co Arkansas. You will see all the fields are levelled and pivots are rare. Lots of rice grown. Andy.
