![](/profile/get-photo.asp?memberid=334&type=profile&rnd=900) North central North Dakota | MnDirtturner - 1/24/2025 12:10 I am wanting to drill about 24 holes in a 2x6 tubing that is 3/8". I want the holes to align both top and bottom of the tubing so I would prefer to drill from the top side through to the bottom in one action. Holes are only about 5/8" but that is a lot for a my twist drill options. If I rented a mag drill with 2" depth capacity, will do you think it will drill through a 2" tubing in one setting? In 2018 I bought a Evolution mag drill . Listed as 1 1/8" with 2" depth. I use a lot longer than 2" cutters on that outfit as you can see on the attached photos. Drilling on the round shaft was tricky - a vertical mill would have been more precise - but I got the job done. I have drilled through 4" thick square tubing also. main trick is to get the slug out to continue cutting.
