Sw mn
I put 1.5 inch bead board between the girts and spray foamed around the edges with the little hand held disposable cans. Then I hung 8’ wide bat insulation that had plastic glued to one side. Blow in insulation for the ceiling and I didn’t skimp.

Some years when I’m feeling extra Dutch I will see how long I can make it with out turning on the heat. Have made it to January 1st and it only got down to 45 degrees.

Is it the “best”, I don’t know.

I also skipped the ground source heat pump and went with propane powered floor heat.

First year I heated my 60x 56 shop with under 500 gallons. Haven’t kept track sense then.

Would have cost at least $30,000 extra for heat pump and spray foam. At 5 percent interest and $1.40 propane, it can put the money in a cd, heat my shop and have $800 in interest left over.

Run the numbers, I don’t think it pays.
