Farmington, Mo | Hey John, the biggest issue I could see is it being a set back axel vs a set forward axle for the steer.
We have a Mack CH613, (the one I drove to your place when I bought those tractor weights) as well as two Peterbilts…a 379 and a 388. 379 is a long hood and 388 is a bit shorter but both have set-forward steer axels and the better ride is quite noticeable when compared to the Mack. All 3 trucks have rear air suspension and cab suspension.
If you think about it, it makes sense. Those short good trucks your practically sitting on top of the steering wheel tire vs the long good trucks where it’s several feet in front of you.
Bottom line is, I’m afraid it’s just the way the ole girl is gonna be.
You been braving the lines much down at the river cluster F? Sure appreciate the FB page! Keep up the good work there!
Send me a pic of the rig and I’ll keep my eye open for you! | |
