| I LOVE my 2014 Outback. I save a lot of time on fields for tillage, drag, rolling, fertilizer spreading, if I get it on sprayer that will be HUGE preplant.
I did try planting wheat with small drill. I did not do an acceptable job. Mostly my fault. But my unit does an offset that is not constant. At 13’ trying to stay 6” you are doing great. Then it’s off by more.
Even if I start in center, keep expanding going same direction next round.
But I save time, fuel, wear, tear. Plus easier to change angle of fieldwork.
Of course reduced stress. But also watching equipment. Every now and again I check ahead, turn as far as seat allows. Then watch each shank, compare it to next. All the way across with few glances forward. I notice shovels gone, or shank broke/bent.. *it barely bounces* 1 bolt broke *it’s sticking out +2x* as far as others as sideways, or broken spring.
Twisting if inner wear bushing gone. Tires flat, loose, most anything. Instead of a few seconds you can give each unit a decent look.
