If they spoke ill of their parliament they were beheaded, hence the first amendment.
There are a lot of us that believe the results of the 2020 presidential election were rigged and therefore invalid. January 6th was the day to certify or object to the results. What better way for an average citizen to object than to go in person and protest? Protesting is a constitutional right protected by the first amendment to the constitution of the United States of America. What anyone dresses as is irrelevant. Whenever someone walks through an open door, invited, it's not considered invading. To bad you are having a hard time understanding such simple things. After that move to China for a few years and experience government control. If that's not enough, try North Korea.
My thanks to him was because most of the people who would have liked to be there with him showing the same objection had other obligations that prevented our participation. His presence as well as all the rest showed the rest of the country that a lot of us were not happy with the results and more so, did not believe the results were genuine.
