Middlesex County, Ontario | Windows 10 and Windows 11 Home Edition include S mode which will only allow you to install apps from the Microsoft store. You need to disable S mode to install any program that isn't from the Microsoft store. Disabling S mode is easy and permanent.

You will have to sign into a microsoft 365 account to disable it. Which means you might have to create an account. That's how they get you.
