David, my question has always been….if there were underhanded stuff in 2020…..first, call that out with specific, concrete examples. Second, work to change the election rules that may have led to questionable ballots.

And by underhanded stuff, I mean what the hardcore people call stealing the election.

I, for one, am uncomfortable with certain aspects of absentee voting. Do I want to block anyone from voting that can’t vote on Election Day?

No…..but we need to be certain about chain of custody on those votes.

I really feel this should have been the message. Working within the system, respecting the system. In many cases the GOP controlled state legislatures to get this done.

I have always felt, just shouting “ the election was stolen” was a lazy way of not putting in the work to make changes.

Using a sports analogy…..maybe if you’re on a team that just lost to a team that you thought, no way, no how are they going to beat us…..look in the mirror. Ask the hard questions, what wasn’t I prepared for, what did I do wrong, what changes do I need to make.

Every 5 year old thinks the other team cheated.

Specifically, what I am most upset with are the election laws that were not followed. I'm not going to say whether it swayed the election, as I don't know. I also don't know if it was done as a way to 'steal' the election. I don't think either of us knows. However, I also don't think that either of us can prove that it did not, and the fact that the elections took place in violation of election laws (most notably in a couple swing States that went to Biden in 2020) and you have the makings for a conspiracy, which agitators will use to stir people up. IMO, the best thing that should have happened is that the laws would have been followed, and barring that, measures taken to be sure that they are followed moving forward. The sad truth is that at least in some places, election officials were still blatantly going to ignore election laws and court decisions upholding those laws, and to no one's surprise (at least not to mine) they happened in areas controlled by one party.

Pennsylvania and Wisconsin violated their own laws in 2020, emphasizing the necessity of the rule of law in elections

----and fast forward 4 years or so:::

As the contested Pennsylvania Senate race barrels towards a $1 million recount, Democratic officials in a few blue counties are openly admitting to counting disqualified ballots in defiance of state law and court orders.

---skip down a bit in same article

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled before the election that mail ballots lacking formally required signatures or dates should not be included in official results. However, Democratic officials in Philadelphia and surrounding Bucks, Centre and Montgomery counties are ignoring that court order.

"I think we all know that precedent by a court doesn’t matter anymore in this country," Bucks County Commissioner Diane Ellis-Marseglia, a Democrat, said Thursday as she and other Democrats voted to reject a GOP-led challenge to ballots that should be disqualified.

----me again. This does not 'prove' an election was being 'stolen' but when election officials openly say they will violate election laws, and then ignore a State Supreme Court order because they don't want to, something is clearly broken in our election process. How can anyone say that an election is completely legitimate when there is absolute proof that voting laws were not followed?
