100,000 laying hens died in fire yesterday in my backyard X 300 eggs/year = 30,000,000 eggs/year lost. The farm produces 6 million eggs/day when things are going according to plan.

We paid our egg source $3.50/dozen for grade A large eggs delivered to our office fridge this morning. Some have white shells, some have brown shells and some have blueish/greenish colored shells so maybe we got a discount...I think she has 10 laying hens.

A huge local egg laying facility had to euthanize their flocks 2 weeks, because of the Bird Flu. I manage 1 load out of 50,000 bu that I had contracted there, before they closed. I think they said there were something like 4 million birds at this facility.
