West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12 | 100,000 laying hens died in fire yesterday in my backyard X 300 eggs/year = 30,000,000 eggs/year lost. The farm produces 6 million eggs/day when things are going according to plan.
We paid our egg source $3.50/dozen for grade A large eggs delivered to our office fridge this morning. Some have white shells, some have brown shells and some have blueish/greenish colored shells so maybe we got a discount...I think she has 10 laying hens.
