You must be in an area some how sheltered from freezing ground. Just south of the Michigan border here and it's pretty common for the ground to be either frozen, covered in snow, or both from December through February. And when it's not any of those conditions it's a wet muddy mess. And we are on true sand.

Do you care to share the results of that plot?
