Subject: RE: Battery blankets: thermostat or not

CENTRAL ILLINIOS
Battery blankets aren't a common thing down here where it is warm so I can't offer any advice on the thermostat but I know warming the battery will help. My former neighbor worked at a Fiat factory that built pipe layers that were headed to Siberia 40 years ago to build the Soviet unions gas pipelines. I don't know how many batteries were in a battery pack (they set a battery pack on with a forklift) but the tractors going to Siberia got two battery packs instead of just one. The sole purpose of the second battery pack was to warm the other one up so it would put out enough amps to crank the engine.
