My sons VW golf doesn't have a block heater and apparently no where to put one. Also a plastic oil pan so no easy way to heat that. So I'm going to install a battery blanket.
I've never used one. I'm seeing that some have thermostats. Is it a good idea to get one with a thermostat? In very cold weather I'd assume one without wouldn't get too hot.
My son is common sense enough that he wouldn't leave it plugged in all the time but the thermostat would be nice because could just you leave it plugged in.

Is this an option? https://www.frostheater.com/

Not sure how much battery blankets help. I have not pursued that idea.
