In Iowa, a farmer hauling his own stuff can be 12 feet wide. With signs and rotating light. !0 feet doesn't sound bad. I would avoid I80 just for traffic. I29 does have an active scale in Missouri. When I have gone to Kansas with farm plates, after they got $50 for the permit, no hassle.
