Have a couple fields that I end up with a 1’ strip a mile long that gets missed. If I don’t use fence row nozzle. And I end up at back of mile long field. Thinking of adding a 2nd nozzle with electric pump on foam tank with broadleaf killer for ditches

A common problem with fence line tips is the product being used in the field proper may include both a broad leaf and a grass killer. This is desirable in the field itself but quite likely not for the fence line since you may not want to kill the grass there.

One method to do this is to have a separate low volume spray system where the products in that tank are only applied to the fence line. Since the volume is usually quite low an electric pump connected to a single tip may be suitable. Just having this on one side would be workable as long as the operator plans ahead. Having the option of running either side might be more desirable.

As the previous poster suggests, using air from an existing air system already on the sprayer is another option rather than an electric pump.

An irritating alarm is a good idea. I made a partial boom alert many years ago before auto swath. This was to remind me when I had purposely shut off a section when starting or finishing a field. Problem was I might forget to turn it back on in normal situations. I made an irritating alarm to warn me of this. The problem with it was that it was TOO irritating. A compromise was to put in a timer so the alarm would sound every so often for a while and then go silent.

I wonder what I did with that alarm. Since our Hagie had fence line tips in the conventional sense which we don't use and it has an air system, using it with a small tank might be a thought for next year. I would be somewhat concerned about the remote possibility of getting chemical back into the air system and damaging it.
