| Have a Cat engine in a 379 Pete with the factory engine insulation that has split and broken off making the engine louder than it should be. Local Peterbilt dealer says they can replace the insulation but have to remove everything on the left side of the engine like the fuel filter base, ECM, starter, ect. It is on there to help quiet down the engine. Are there any other solutions to quiet down this engine? TIA. This insulation mounts right on the block itself. The truck has factory dual 5 inch exhaust w/mufflers. I know most want loud straight pipes, but I don't. The drone and turbo spool wears on you after a while.
