We all have our own worth, and values, and goals.
I think we all know folk like you. Good gentle folk.
But they just can’t fit into the structure of the world.
You need to be free, and you need to dream.
The structure of our society and your way of needing to do things just doesn’t match up.
1 You can continue on the way you are and be in a hole looking out. I have seen many end up doing this, and it is a shame. By not buckling down and proving yourself, making things happen for yourself, you are cheating both yourself and your community out of what you can bring to the world. But, unfortunately this often ends up being the default path of folk like minded to you. We can’t sit around and wait and hope for ‘something’ to come along.
2 You could build small and struggle a while to grow and then rebuild bigger. Not so efficient and more struggle, but if you work at the goal you can get there. This is so obvious and ends up so rewarding when you do succeed. It’s unfortunate internally it is so hard for people to get on and work through this path. If people are telling you this, they must see talent and value in what you do. Sure it’s hard, but it would get you to your goal.
3 With your talent and skills, if you have not fallen behind with your time off, you could get a pretty good paying job and get yourself on track. With your meager living you could easily save up a very nice nest egg in 5 years, and be exactly where you want to be in under 10 years. King of your domain. But, as you say, doing such a thing is just beneath you, you won’t can’t will not get a job. This would so clearly and obviously and quickly fast track you into what you are dreaming for. But, you said a hard no to it. Your personality won’t allow you to compromise on working to get what you want.
And so, there we are.
Seen this dozens of times. The paths to success are there.
I’m not saying it’s easy. I’m not saying it will all be honey and butterflies. Lot of compromises lot of effort and work. Lot of tough days you spend working for someone else when you didn’t want to do that this morning. It’s hard.
The people that are successful stop doing #1. They swallow hard and move forward with #2 or #3. And keep to it.
So.
You can choose to do something about it.
Or you can choose to dream about it.
It’s not up to me, or us, or your friends, or your family, or strangers sending you money.
Tough love here:
It’s up to you. It’s your path. You make it. Get off your rear and start making it. Not next month, not next week. But now. No one else can do it for you.
Yea. It’s hard. Enjoy the ride. Live life. Do the work. Get to the goal.
