Subject: RE: Rifle calibers and the future

Triplett / Brunswick MO / Brookfield

I've only killed one deer at over 700 yards, AND IT WAS LUCK. I've killed many 400-450 yards. all of my long range deer have been killed with a 30-06.

My sons have guns capable of hitting the target at 700 yards.

This past fall I decided to set up a long range gun. I really thought I wanted to buy a 7MM-PRC. My sons talked me out of that one, because of the recoil. So I bought a Browning 6.5 PRC. I will probably put a Leoupold 5x25 or a 4x20 scope on it. The top turrent will be factory set for 100 yards each 3 clicks. I will only shoot Hornady factory precision rounds trough it. If I remember right, bullets will weigh around 150. It should ring the bell at 1000-1200 yards. Some guys are ringing the bell at 1,700 yards with this setup.
