A lot of $$ bales sitting in the snow.
Around here our wheat straw is snapped up by dairies and they want it out of the field quick to use for feed as well as bedding.
In Essex county, near Windsor or across the border and south of Detroit they use the straw for mushrooms and so it is left in fields for some time.
Even stacked outside or right in the fields for weeks or longer.
Maybe that is the reason they don't plant many fields to cover crops there when our area most stuble fields are planted to cover crop right after harvest | |
