Thanks for the photos. Nice to spend time in a museum during this kind of weather.
In one corner of the building somewhere there used to be a portion of a brick wall. That wall contained "bricks" that were donated with money attached. Our local Kankakee Valley Pilots Association donated heavily to the building of the then new EAA museum. I think we gave $1000. My wife & I were officers in the KVPA.
We were also @ OSH the year that Dick Rutan flew the Voyager to the show. We watched him approach & land. I think they were non-stop from CA on that trip. Burt Rutan is a true aeronautical genius and an ordinary guy. Dick flew the Long-EZ's for quite a few years in the airshow itself.
On another note...if you've never been to the AF Museum in Dayton OH.....why not? |
