| Down checking water today for cattle, ran into elk herd over 200 hd. They sure can tear fence out. Then ran into sheep herd on our allotment. No snow, so they are using our cattle water right now. Good guys, we work together to graze the range and help each other out when we both get snowed out. Thought some here would like to see western range sheep operation. Also, sheep camp with commissary for dog food and hay & grain for horses. Black sheep are used as counters, herder when bunched can glance and count them. Then figure how many sheep are missing for a rough guess.
