That's how we do it. We have 1 planter and get the corn knocked out then switch to beans. There was a time not too long ago we waited until the last week of April or first of May to plant beans due to sds risk on colder, wetter soils. Have not had that as much recently, but I think we are due. In 2019 we had a river flood but was able to plant beans the first week of July. We planted a few acres at a time as the ground dried, and finally quit around the 5th or 6th because we thought it was stupid to plant that late. Dad was pushing us to do more but we hung it up figuring we'd be lucky to get 30 bpa. It rained right and we didn't even need to run the irrigator that summer, and the beans made 70. Dad was right and told us so LOL. I think the kicker was this is very good dirt and beans naturally grow taller here, and we were used to double crop bean yields on crappier droughty dirt. Fast forward to last year, same farm had a smaller creek flood and we got the beans planted in early June. They made about 65, which was exactly what our April planted beans across the road made with same soil. Neighbor next to us was making about the same. I agree with the weather on the back end.
