I was on the early (April) planting bean fad before it was mainstream, in the 10-20 year ago timeframe. I used to say it was the easiest 10 bu bump you could ever get.

But in the last 10 years not so much. It’s just like clockwork that they sit through at least a week or more or several cycles of cold wet conditions. That does them no good. It may have mostly to do with the hot pres we use now.

The weather in August trumps planting date for yield almost all the time.

Just what I’ve seen here.
