Missouri

It was a modern Simmental, so I guess you could say he was at least part Angus.

He was also being kept at one of the studs that are well known for creating higher quality semen that thrives in IVF. His condition was what I'd call "poor" and I'm sure if more people had seen him the rumors would have been even worse. I often think several of the bulls need better care there and the bad ones always look extra bad, but their reputation for creating the better semen in the industry was earned over time so they're doing something right.

I've struggled to connect any of the feed efficiency data to something I can use in my breed of choice. Mostly because the two breeders I have access to do not live in fescue country. One is all the way up in the Canadian plains and the other is way out West. They both own their own units and are running females as well as bulls with winter feed costs in mind, but until they're feeding round bales of fescue I just don't know what I'm supposed to do with the data. I don't know a single breeder in Missouri with the desire to run such tests on a fescue ration and most of them don't even have a herd big enough to make statistical significant data, so it's kind of a dead end unless someone somewhere happens to use a pedigree with known fescue abilities.
