IF you are 25,000 empty, you are not running the stuff that shows your stupidity.
There are many reasons to own a truck.
Mine is to make money. I tend to run what is cheapest to work on and cheapest to buy. I also tend to run things that are not popular. A Mercedes engine, or 3176 cat, odd cab, whatever
The guys that want a truck to make a statement run Peterbilts.
The difference is pretty much summed up this way.
One guy buys a Pete. He pays 3x times what a similar Freightliner of Volvo cost.
Another guys buys the off brand. They both ruin an engine. The Pete guy is down trying to figure out how to make his payment and finance his new engine.
The off brand guy drags his old truck out in the weeds and buys another. He then either keeps the old truck for parts or sells enough parts off it to recoup his initial money, keeping the cab, wiring and frame for parts.
THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART.
The Pete guy tells everyone how much smarter he is than the off brand guy and how much money it is costing him to be down for that 2 months.

I see KB said the same thing, in a nicer way.
