Most people thinking about engine conversions in old trucks or tractors, don't consider the torque characteristics or speed range of the engines. At 1400 rpm, the only GM engine that comes to mind as a possibility is a 292 six. Their peak torque was at 1600 rpm. Lots of them on old combines with governors too. | |
