I grew up using Champion plugs. Several years ago I bought a SMTA, put Champions in it like we use to run back in the day. Seemed like it was always fouling plugs. Neighbor recomme did Autolites. According to Auotlite tech the 3116 is recommended for the IH 4 cylinder engines & the 386 for their 6 cylinder engines. Have had good success with the 3116s. You also might try putting in a Pertronix electronic ignition & their high voltage coil. Had an old Toyota fork truck that was notorious for fouling plugs & burning up points. Put a Pertronix electronic ignition & hot coil in it & ran it for several years on the same set of plugs.
