I don’t know if I would mess with a one ton electric unless it is used constantly every day. Most one ton manual hoists are reasonably fast. The higher tonnage manual hoists are painfully slow and that is where electric is nicer. I have a one ton manual I got used fifty years ago. I have used the heck out of it and it still works great. It doesn’t take long to get the hook raised from the floor to the top unless I am really lugging on it. A neighbor has a 3 ton manual. It will lift about anything but it takes forever pulling the chain to get anywhere with it.
